國立故宮博物院典藏近七十萬件文物，跨越數千年歷史，承載著不同時代的文化、工藝與智慧。這些珍貴文物能夠完整保存至今，並非偶然，而是仰賴一套完整且持續運作的文物保存體系。在展廳中，觀眾看見的是跨越歲月的文化瑰寶；在展廳外，則有一群保存、研究與修護人員長年默默守護文物，使其得以延續生命，並將珍貴的歷史記憶傳承至未來。
文物保存涵蓋預防性保存、科學分析與文物修復三大面向。預防性保存透過環境控制及適當的保護措施，降低文物劣化風險；科學分析運用多元科學檢測技術，深入了解文物的材質、結構、製作技術及蘊藏的歷史訊息，為保存與修復提供關鍵依據；文物修復則依據修復倫理與專業判斷，採取適切的修復方式，穩定文物狀況。三者彼此支援、環環相扣，不僅守護文物本體，更保存與發掘其所承載的歷史資訊、文化價值與工藝智慧。
本展以此規劃四個單元，透過文物保存實踐、科學研究成果、修復發現及修復關鍵思考的案例，引領觀眾循著保存、研究到再現的脈絡，走進平時鮮少公開的文物保存幕後，探索文物如何在專業團隊的守護下跨越時間，體會「物華再現」所蘊含的深刻意義。
